Perina is an AI perimenopause companion app operated by the Perina team. This Privacy Policy explains how Perina handles information when you use the mobile app, website, and related services.
2. Information You May Provide
Depending on the features you use, Perina may process information such as:
- Cycle and period-related information, including dates, cycle length, and irregularity notes.
- Symptom logs, such as hot flashes, sleep, mood, anxiety, brain fog, headaches, spotting, or other notes you choose to enter.
- Voice or text notes you choose to record or type for journaling and AI-assisted summaries.
- Account information if you choose to sign in or sync, such as your email address or account identifier from Apple or Google.
- Subscription status and purchase-related identifiers provided by Apple App Store or Google Play if you buy Premium.
- Basic device, app, and diagnostic information needed to operate, secure, and improve the app.
3. Sensitive Health Information
Your cycle, symptom, sleep, mood, and journal entries may be considered sensitive health-related information. Perina treats this information carefully and uses it only to provide app features you request, such as tracking, summaries, insights, and doctor report previews.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide symptom, cycle, sleep, mood, and journal tracking.
- Generate AI-assisted summaries, pattern insights, and doctor report previews.
- Support account sync if you choose to link an account.
- Manage Premium access and purchase status.
- Maintain app security, debug crashes, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
- Comply with legal, platform, and safety requirements.
5. AI and Voice Notes
If you use voice or AI-assisted features, Perina may process your voice-derived text or notes to extract symptoms, severity, timing, and patterns. Audio recording behavior depends on the app version and permissions you grant. We do not use your health journal entries to sell advertising.
6. Local Storage and Sync
Perina may store journal data on your device. If cloud sync or account linking is enabled in your app version and you choose to use it, selected data may be stored with our service providers so your information can sync across devices. You can choose not to link an account and use guest/local mode where available.
7. Purchases and Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Perina may receive purchase status, product identifiers, renewal status, and related transaction identifiers so Premium features can be enabled. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple or Google.
8. Sharing and Service Providers
We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate Perina, such as cloud hosting, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, AI processing, and subscription management. These providers are expected to process information only for the services they provide to us.
We do not sell your personal health information.
9. Analytics and Diagnostics
Perina may collect limited analytics and diagnostic information to understand app performance and fix bugs. Where possible, we avoid collecting the contents of private journal notes for analytics.
10. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Local data may remain on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Synced data may remain until deletion is requested or the account is removed, subject to backups and legal requirements.
11. Your Choices
You may be able to:
- Use guest/local mode where available.
- Choose whether to link an Apple or Google account.
- Grant or deny microphone and notification permissions.
- Edit or delete entries inside the app where supported.
- Request deletion of account-related data by contacting us.
12. Children's Privacy
Perina is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to Perina, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
13. International Use
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. We take reasonable steps to protect information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
