Focusly — Privacy Policy

Focusly ("the app") is a routine and focus app built for ADHD brains. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. The short version: your data stays on your device.

1. Data stored on your device only

The following data is created and stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to our servers:

Your routines, steps, and schedules
Completion history, streaks, XP, and level
Energy check-ins and brain dump notes
The display name you enter (used only for the in-app greeting)
App settings (reminder time, sound, vibration, etc.)

We have no user accounts and no access to this data. Uninstalling the app deletes it. You can also export or delete all data at any time from Settings.

2. Purchases

Subscriptions are processed entirely by Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). We never see or store your payment details. Your Pro status is stored locally on your device. See Google's and Apple's privacy policies for how they handle payment data.

3. AI routine builder (optional feature)

If you choose to use the AI step breakdown feature, the task description you type is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and forwarded to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to generate suggested steps. This text:

is processed only to generate your steps and is not stored on our server,
is not used to train AI models,
is not linked to your identity — only an anonymous device identifier is used for rate limiting.

If you never use the AI feature, the app makes no network requests with your content.

4. Permissions

Notifications — used for routine reminders and timer alerts. Optional; the app works without it.
Calendar (read-only, optional) — if you enable the calendar overlay, events are read directly on your device to display them on your timeline. They never leave your device.

5. Analytics & tracking

The app does not include third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

6. Children

Focusly is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
